Mutoh 1624 printing blurry/washed out

Hello S101;
- I have a Mutoh 1624 which is printing blurry/washed out as shown in the photo:


- Clean heads: done
- test print: Done & OK

Any ideas as to what is going on with the printer?
- It seems to be happening after about 24 inches (linear) of media (any width) has past through the printer.

Dirty Encoder Disk or Encoder strip.
That is my best guess on this one.
If the problem is in the same position it has to be the encoders.
Clean with denatured alchol.

looks like damper. If it prints OK and then drops out, that would be my first option. If that is not it the head might be experiencing problems. I would also check for static.
