Mutoh 1624x Black Ink Bleed into White

I recently printed a large box truck, where majority of the wrap was black. However the white letters in the design had what appeared to be black smeared or running through it. It almost looked like water colors. It was only in the white, none of the other colors used in the design. I was printing on Arlon SLX. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sounds like the media raised while printing and made contact with the printhead. A picture of the smearing could confirm.
