Mutoh 1641 Ink streaking blobs excess ink

Pictures tell the story. I searched a bunch before posting - it looks like on other machines the thoughts are bad head, bad damper etc. I just replaced the head and the dampers with factory parts less thank 6 months ago. I also checked the capping station and replaced the wiper. It will print for about 8-10 inches before starting to 'throw' or 'leak' the ink onto the media. I read one post where it talked about banner material getting caught on the head. Ironically I had printed about 8 feet of banner material perfectly and then this. I have cleaned and checked and cleaned the head multiple times but magenta and some yellow are streaking onto the media. I am going to order some new dampers but I thought before I tear it all apart I would post here. Happy New Year and thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Other than debris stuck to the head, a bad wiper is the next likely. Think worn out windshield wiper.

No, It looks the material has a waving on the printplane. You can see waves what for sure touches a printhead while printing. Maybe, overheat of the media or wrong temperature setting for preheater.

Many of the profiles for this printer have temps set too high. Drop them to 35, 38, 50. Also there is no issue whatsoever with running the head height at Low2

It could be a combination of both. The media is definitely warping due to heat and causing head strikes but that seems like a lot of ink being left behind as well.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I haven't been able to use the machine and I took a stab at it today. The issue appears to be a bunch of magenta ink pooling just to the right of the media. I think the head is dragging this extra ink and just depositing it as it goes back and forth. I cleaned up the magenta ink before I took these photos but I think you can tell where it is pooling. I checked the lines going into the dampers but I am stumped - and not printing anything at this point. Thanks in advance for any ideas.....
