Mutoh 426UF questions

Hello everyone, I recently picked up a used 426UF which has sat for a while. The seller suggested that I soak the head and flush the lines. How exactly do I do that?

Also are there compatible inks I can get instead of OEM ? Thank you!

Don't know about the 426 but I have its bigger sister 626 here and I assume they are rather similar.
I switched from UH21 to US11 inks some years ago and got this information (attached) from Mutoh, with information about emptying and refilling the lines.
You may have to enter Service mode to be able to follow the steps. On the 626 I had to press and hold the Up + Right + Down arrows while turning the printer on.

I assume some of this can be useful also in this case, but hopefully someone with more expertise can provide you with more and better information.

Regarding inks, I'm not aware of any third-party inks for 426/626 and even if I did I'd suggest using original Mutoh inks.
They are expensive but they work.

Hi there, if you have ink on the lines, the one thing you should check is the circulation pump. if they did not flush the lines, the white has solidified and it usually solidifies around the circulation pump. Squeeze the ink line around the circulation pump, if its kinda solid, the white has dried and you need to check for that...
PM if you need extra info...we can change notes ;)

Thanks for the pointer! I'm new to this printer. Where would I find the circulation pump? I assume I will have to open some panels?
