Mutoh cost of ink 12c a sq ft? Come on...

So today I recieved an email from Signwarehouse about a mutoh 64" printer being on sale for only $15,500. Great deal and I've been looking to upgrade so of course I called and inquired. What really struck me though was they proceeded to tell me there 440 cartridge is $129 and the cost of ink on 100% coverage is 12c a sq ft on med resolution. Now I have a mimaki now and I do use solvent ink but my 440 lysons cost me only 64.50 ea and I have a hard time believing that my ink cost is roughly .06 a sq ft. Please someone fill me in if I am miscalculating something here. Because if my ink is that cheap I don't see myself ever upgrading lol

Just though I'd put my 2 cents out there...

change it to bulk-system and you buy a liter INk from Blue-Mall.com ULTRA ECO great choice !!!

Better you buy a Epson Surecolor version "~Same Price as the Mutoh or Cheaper" and the Best Solvent System on Market !!!!

$0.12 does sound pretty cheap. I have a 1204 with a bulk ink system, and figure it at about 20 cents. Though I've never actually checked / calculated with the bulk system, but when I first got it, using the OEM inks - a rough count gave me about 60 cents a foot. Bulk I'm paying about a third of what the OEM was, hence.... 20 cents.

I'm running the triangle cartridges in my Mimaki JV33 and I normally figure $.25. I get them for $61. I assume that's close to accurate since I used to pay twice as much for the OEM, and they always told me to figure $.50.

They are fooling you with math. You have a 4 color printer, so "MAX" ink coverage (no profile or anything) is 400%. typical coverage for testing for cost is 250% coverage. at 100% coverage, you're probably looking at 12 cents. at the standard percentage, you're looking at the far more reasonable 30 cents.

Sign Warehouse isn't the most straight forward company I've ever seen people work with. It wouldn't surprise me if they were fiddling with statistics to get crazy numbers.

Kraig-

Where are you getting your Triangle inks for $61.00 a cartridge? The cheapest I found them was through JSI and they are $65. Where do you get your consumable for your JV33? (capping station, dampers and wipers)

Thanks-
Ryan
