mutoh falcon ll outdoor /rockhopper error message?

i am getting this message after i set up the media and the ink heads start trying to pump ink. as soon as the ink starts pumping to get ready to print i get this error message (ink status not original ink) when i pull out the ink cartridges and put them back in, it goes away but i have to do this a few times, now it is hapening more often and it wont let me print. does any one know what this message means? help.....

I have the same problem with one of my ink slots. It seems to be getting worse. I don't know of a fix other than power cycle the printer and remove and reinsert the cartridge, over and over, and over, and over, and over. This didn't start happening to me until here recently.

A single slot would point to a sensor/contact issue
Or a label misplacement if it is just a cartridge or maybe a group of cartridges.
You can check the label placement by comparing to a cart that works.

Ok I changed the black cartidge that was giving me this error message and put a new catridge in and the error is gone .

Sounds like a sensor issue to me. Problem could either be the cartridge (especially if it's getting worse, plastic is probably being ground away) or the sensor on the printer. Never had any problems with my sensors though...
