Mutoh Falcon Outdoor Jr question

Hey everyone
I went and looked at a Mutoh Falcon Outdoor Jr that was in pretty good condition. The owner didnt know too much about it and It either needs the print heads replaced or the lines are all dried up. I just had a question about using it. Would it work with my computer that runs on windows 7 or do I need to have XP or earlier? Also do I have to have a RIP program or would I be able to print out of any program such as Illustrator.

The printer will work with windows 7 and you do need a rip to run the printer.

Thanks for the answer! What rip would you recommend? Im not real familiar with that many. The guy that helps us out now is using onyx.

Does the machine does not come with a rip?
You need a RIP to print, it does not use a simple windows printer driver.
If the machine comes with an older Onyx 6,5 it only works under Windows XP.
Older rips best work with XP.
Make a dedicated RIP PC no need for high specs.

I have one of these. The dx2 print heads are becoming more expensive.
It is slow but does what we need it to do.

Thanks guys, I did find out that we have a RIP. We picked it up today for a reall good price and were going to go over it to see about the heads on it.

I have parts for it at www.solventinkjet.com. if it has been sitting you could be looking at heads,dampers, capping assembly and a pump, to start
