Mutoh Falcon Outdoor printing horrible

Hello!

I just picked up this Mutoh Falcon Outdoor 48. It's been completely rebuilt, new pumps and heads. As you can see, the color in this decal is almost completely black when it should have a light green gradient in the lettering. And there are tons of little black lines around the perimeter and outside of the decal itself. Any ideas?

I'm using the trial version of Flexi PhotoPrint 10.

This is my first solvent printer, I'm a total noob.

Thanks for your help!

Your lack of light green gradient is color profile/color management issues.

All these 'lines' would appear to be in the image, as they dont appear directional from the printer?

You are missing a few nozzles as well.

the reason why it has the lines thru the print is because you are using the free trial software. you can never cut or print on free trail software or demo version software.

I don't know the machine, but it seems to me that a manual clean is in order. Should be something in the menu that says "Normal" clean or "Power" clean...

I would do a normal clean and see if that primes the heads. That might solve your drop-out issue and clean the heads at the same time.

Also, did the printer come with it's own RIP software? I would use that instead of printing out of Flexi. Flexi dumps more ink generally than the printer software.

Those lines

Street Dreamz you beat me to it on that demo disc. First time i saw that it took me two hours to figure it out. Turned out my customer had reloaded the software after i did the original install. Good call.

Ok! Using non-trial software, and cleaning the heads really works well!

The only problem I am having now, is that I'm using older Flexi 5 PhotoPrint software. The colors are showing up way too dark, and it looks like the ink is really being caked on. I've tried some different presets and settings but I'm having a hard time dialing it in or seeing any big change.

I'm still only using basic intermediate calendered vinyl, not digital print vinyl, could that be the difference? I have some digital print vinyl coming tomorrow, but it's an intermediate calendered vinyl that this older software does not have a preset for.

Any thoughts?
