i have a 54" mutoh and when the ink cart says its running low, i take it out and chunk it...

just wondering if its possible to let it run out in the middle of a print, and if i replace it after printer stops, will print continue where it left off.

sure seems a waste of ink thats left in the cart...

Yes when a cart runs out the print will stop...put the new cart in and the print will resume.............

ALSO... do NOT pull it out when it says it's running low. You'll be VERY surprised how long that sucker will keep going until it tells you NOW is the time! VERY surprised!

unless...

unless the printer pulls blue ink into the yellow lines.....if I don't change the yellow when it starts beeping, they tell me it works like a reverse vaccum, and pulls it up into the lines.

of course, I have a tech coming in to fix the problem now, as my 1204 never has a problem. it's a workhorse.....

my 1614...that's the one with a different story....
