Hello All:
I am reaching out hoping to get some more information on why I cannot get my VJ 1304 to fire correctly. I bought this piece of equipment about 18 months ago and let it sit. The gentleman that I bought it off of said he had the printer prepped for cold storage. After firing up the printer I noticed right away that there was no ink getting pulled to the dampers. I also noticed that the printer head did not appear to be in the best shape either.
After reading through many forums on here I preformed the following service on the printer...
1. Used a syringe to pull ink through all of the lines from the ink dampers. Ink will pull through the lines easily now but once I get ink into the dampers, the ink gradually "sucks" back up through the lines and out of the dampers.
2. After more investigation of the printer head, I was unable to get cleaning solution to move through the printer head from where the dampers connect into the printer head. My guess was that old ink had gummed up in the head and possibly damaged the printer head beyond repair. As result I bought a new printer head and have installed that.
3. The docking station or printer maintenance station seemed to have a fair amount of abuse to it so after the new printer head did not fix it, I replaced the maintenance station.
And still after all of this I am still not able to get ink to move to the printer head.
Any ideas or solutions to this issue? I would like to avoid turning around and selling this printer right away after sinking a good amount of cash into it. Any feedback would be appreciated!
I have attached pictures of the printer in current state.
