Mutoh VJ1604 Stopped half way through print!

Our VJ1604 stopped halfway through a 2metre print this afternoon.
It came up with a sub tank low error. This happens frequently but normally you come in the morning and it is bleeping away not during a print!
Also we are running bulk inks so when I started back up I changed the cards for a new set as the old ones were dated January 2014.
Now it just keeps coming up with "[KMCY]S/C ReadErr"
Also when pulling either the Magenta and Yellow cartridges out the machine resets!
I have changed the bulk ink assemblies for new ones thinking the contacts maybe worn with no change.
It may be just the cards being old as even the ones from March that I have never used do not work.
Should I wait till my new cards are here tomorrow or have I a issue with the contacts internally?

I have repaired this now.

For future reference it was the card reader modules that were faulty.
On the yellow two of the pins were bent and on the magenta one of the pins was also bent.
This must have been worn for a while and just decided to no longer touch or short.
For safety and the sake that everything wears at the same rate I replaced all four card reader modules (they look like what your sim card on your phone touches).
On a further note the cable is very tight to each of these and is very fiddly reconnecting.
