Need help with overprint & IP6902 Textile.

Morning guys

A couple of months back I purchased some ImagePerfect P6902 ( http://www.spandex.com/PDF/Datasheets/AM/IP/Spandex_ImagePerfect_Datasheet_IP6902.pdf ), it's a matt transparent film for use with textiles - shirts etc.

So today is the first time I get to use this film but of course it's rather more involved than I first thought!

I want to print a logo design to a black polo shirt. The logo contains 5 spot colours and it's one I designed some time ago. I read the info on the ImagePerfect 6902 - (link above) and it seems I have to print an overprint! I've never done this before and despite reading some of the help pages, I could still do with some pointers.

I understand that I have to 'reverse print' the image and I can see how to reverse the order of colours, I'm just stuck on the overprint but understand why a white overprint (CS10 White) is required for printing on dark garments as the foils are not opaque and neither is the IP6902.

As my logo design was created a few months back, how can I apply and overprint to each of the filled objects in the design?

OR - Is Global Prime the way to go?

Cheers

John

John, I'm almost positive that you should design your job as normal. In GspPlot select Reverse Print. I'm sure that the app will reverse the print over and apply the correct overprint attributes. If you can wait until Moday I will reply back unless someone else chimes in.

Thanks Tony,

Monday will be fine as I'll be on the 'works' computer :)

I'm sure I've used reverse printing before with IP6901 - the white textile film - of course 'overprint' isn't required with the white vinyl. I'm unsure how to apply a GCS10 overprint for ALL the filled objects in my design.

Thanks

John

Design as normal, in GspPlot select reverse print and reverse print order, I also think you want Backing White for the print area.

Perhaps I'm not normal as 'design as normal' doesn't help me much!

How do I set an overprint in white for ALL the objects in my design? Do I select the objects and then click the overprint icon? I've done this but can't see how to set the colur of the overprint - maybe I select the white GCS10 foil colour first, then select the object and then click the overprint icon. This is what I'm stuck on and I've not found the solution in the Help.

Thanks for your help

Cheers
