Needing a new table

We currently have a table that we where in a bind and had to have one built quick. Its all made out of 2x4 with a 1/2 plywood top. The table is 5x8. Its all fine but where the wide part is there is a full sheet of 4x8 then a small 2ft piece to equal the 5 ft wide side. There is a slight hump there where the 2 piece meet.

I wasn't to build a new 5x10 but curious about the top plate before i place the cut matt on it. Any thought so i dont have to worry about any humps. Makes it difficult when you try and cut and there is a small hump in the cut mat and leaves a non cut spot on the material sometimes..

Thanks

Oh ill be building this one myself.

We just retopped out table. Used some 5x10 mdf panels and self healing mats. The mdf that was on there was over 20 years old. It wasn't actually sagging, just beat up on the edges.

Gall here is not cheap and i would still have to build a full decked table on top for the glass..When we are talking about a span of 5 ft wide and 10 ft long bracing will be key unless you want to run over 1/2 thick tempered glass and no one has money for that lol...
