Background: Getting into the full color industry from using just a 24" graphtech for the past 4 years. Just bought a 1204 PrismJet, Q54 Cutter, & a 53" Enduralam laminator.
Scenario: 100 products, 100 designs for each product = 10,000 files. Everyday new products and new designs are added thus increasing the number of files.
Every day you receive 50-100 orders.
These are all print/cut jobs (contour cut) - most are single quantity but some may be 2-3 qty.
What is the best possible way of producing these orders?
I am aware that the Production Manager has a "Add Job" feature to it along with once all the jobs are there then you can "Nest" them together. However, after talking with tech support at both SignWarehouse AND SAi I have been made aware that this feature of nesting jobs from Production Manager is only for printing and not cutting. When I select the properties of the individual jobs (before nesting) I can choose to send the file to the Q54 after it prints. However when I nest 2 or more jobs together then the option to select a cutter is not there.
Is the only thing I can do is open an untitled document and import all 50-100 jobs manually then nest the print/cut from there? Each file takes 1-2 minutes to import, some can take much longer depending on the file. Talk about a huge time sink. I can literally spend 1-2 hours importing jobs to nest. There's got to be an easier way?
