new job

Well I finally found a new job after 3.5 months out of work. I am grateful, lucky and fortunate. I know a lot of others are still struggling. Presently making signs in a sign shop with 4 other great workers. It's sure scary out there with what's going on and I hope I don't have to go through it again, although it seems likely the way the business world is evolving. All I can do is try my best, stay current and be diligent, dedicated and energetic. Since I'm learning a new routine and machines I'm sure I'll have questions to post about things I don't know. Meanwhile I have to prepare for another workday, ain't it sweet.

new job new equipment

What machines are you learning? What machines do you know?

Congrats on the new job.

using the HP Designjet Z6200 and Z6100 (I haven't looked at all the equipment yet-some of it looks beat up and old)......in the past I had used (see if I can remember them) a HP Designjet CP2000, HP5000, HP5500, Canon IPF8000s, Epson Stylus Pro GS6000, Oki Data C9650, Oki Data 910s......had used a Seal Image 62plus laminater, Gerber Edge machine when we did vinyl and before that use to hand paint signs in the 80's and early 90's.
Still using Corel Draw and Photoshop. The difference in everything is the workflow and processes in doing things

Right now I'm simply laying out signs and learning things as they come--one day at a time. I'll eventually figure out how to do all the things I need to know, They have like 5 printers-2 okidata's-2 laminaters etc. etc.

I'll throw out some questions as I come across them.
Thanks for asking, it feels great to be working again.

Getting accustomed to the workflow is probably the worst part of any new job. But, by the sounds of it, the shop is as fortunate as you. :thumb:
