New plotter and software pros n cons

Thinking of picking up a Graphtec FC8000-130 (54”) plotter and running it with the Cutting master 2 plugin for Illy. It will be used mostly for cut vinyl and print/cut vinyl off my Roland pro III.
Any pros/cons or issues?

I've been running an FC7000-100 for a few years now. My third Graphtec. I exclusively use Cutting Master in Illy CS3 at the moment. I print on my HP9000s and cut with CM and it's amazingly accurate. More so than my Edge and GSxPlus even.
I love it.
I have my old Macintosh G4, (Illy 10), plugged in using a converter cable and my MacPro plugged in via USB. I can cut from either Mac without switching cables. Works great.

We tried one (fc8000-130), it worked fine for just cut vinyl, but when using it with our roland (vp-540)we had alot of trouble with it finding the alignment marks. We ended up sending it back and replacing it with a summa (s140-d). We tried using cutting master as well as flexi and neither were consistant sometimes it would find the marks but most of the time it would not. Sometimes if you kept sending the same file it would find the marks after a bunch of tries.

Many people here have good luck with the graphtec but we did not.

Do you not already have a vinyl cutter?

Yes. The Roland is a cutter and I've got an ancient 30" Graphtec. The thing is awesome. Problem is the comp that runs the graphtec died and will be a real PITA to set it up with a new comp. So, I figured why not upgrade the whole system. Plus I could take advantage of a new cutter that is compatible with my printer. Just toying with the idea for now that's why I'm looking for some input.

I would prefer to be current with new technology and not behind. Plus this upgrade has the potential to eliminate some bottlenecks when things get crazy. Not to mention, I'm not overly impressed with my Rolands cutting capabilities - especially on small stuff.
Any one else have some input? So far I've got one pro and one con.
