Oilboard Stencils

Has anyone tried cutting oilboard with a plotter to make stencils? I have a buddy who is building a duck boat and wants to do a camo design with cattails and grass. So I wanted to be able to make him a stencil that he can hold up and rattle can. I know I could cut him one out of vinyl but that seems like a huge waste of material.

Why bother with a plotter? Just cut it with an X-Acto knife (I'd use a small snap-off one)
Draw a simple design and cut away.

I would rather use a plotter so I could make other stencils also especially text.

Newbies expect too much from a cricut...LOL.

Cutting stencils on a plotter can be done, but it is a PITA! Duplicate the design 3-4 times over the same
spot and then cut. Put the plotter on a low weight, with the dulicates the plotter will go over the same line/design 3-4 times lightly.

This is the reason I do not do it.
