Old unknown Signlabs login information

I have a dongle for Signlabs v10 and I downloaded the trial version in hopes that it would recognize my key which it did.

It's asking me to login to my account and the previous owner of the company made his account years and years ago.
It was my understanding that the dongle was the key into the software and if you lost it you lost your software.
Is there any way around getting in touch with the previous owner?

That should contact EFi (CADlink) support and ask them recover your license for SL10.

why would they do that if he doesn't know the user id? try will say license is not transferrable

As he wrote he downloaded the trial version, not dongle version.
