 So while moving my Mutoh 1204 printer to my new shop today, i forgot to take out the waste ink tray, and when i tilted the printer going down the stairs all the waste ink spilled out into the printer and came out the opposite end of the printer and fan vents, etc. (not to mention I got ink on my new expensive boots that my fiancee got me, she was not happy about that :frustrated: )
Anyways, do you think I should open the printer up and clean up all spilled ink inside, or should i not even bother? Also what is the best cleaning product to remove ink from body of the printer (besides the actual expensive cleaning solution used for maintenance)?

Clean it with a cloth (old t-shirt) as much as you can asap.
The solvent inside the ink will harm the plastic when not removed.
On metal parts you can afterwards use the head cleaning fluid of the printer to take away the ink. More old t-shirts to be use.

You will definitely need to open it up and clean it out. All of the Boards in that printer are right behind where the waste tray sits. You should also inspect the cables and make sure they are not sitting in the ink as this will weaken the shielding around them. Make sure that there is no ink on the boards or cables before you plug it in or you will be buying new parts / new printer.
