Open InDesign file in Illustrator?

A customer sent me an .indd file and my Illustrator CS3 won't open it. Is there any way to open it?

Well, even if you could open it, if there are placed images on there, and you don't have the source files, will the file be complete?

If the guy is so clueless that he can't even make a pdf... you have my pity.

What? Do you think if I had InDesign I'd be asking how to open it in Illy? And since obviously I do not, I don't think it's "clueless" of me to ask if it can be opened in Illy.

Like I said, nevermind. Going a different route with him.
