Oracal 751 and 951 cast vinyl compatability

So, we had talked to our Oracal rep a while back and we were told that we should not apply Oracal 751 vinyl over 951 vinyl and vice versa, when applying layered cut vinyl graphics. Before and up to then, we had done a few previous jobs and had layered these different cast vinyls. As far as I know, none of these jobs has failed. So my question is, what is the experience of others here? Has anyone ever layered one type over the other, and if so did you have bad results in the long term? The specs on both films are very similar.

I could see an issue with 651 on 751....cal on cast, or vice versa. Cast on cast shouldn't do anything.

The only thing I've ever encountered is sometimes I have to wipe over the 951 with alcohol or prep-sol before adhering 751 directly to it. Vise versa seems easier, but I have no problem mixing the two.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't figure it could hurt. We mostly use the 751 for general long term signage, but we have the occasional roll of premium cast 951 laying around. A customer picked some 751 colors, but liked a 951 color that was on the rack that isn't available in 751, so I was hoping they would work okay together.
