outdoor pattern paper for signs

bigben

Not a newbie
Hi, I was wondering what everybody is using as pattern paper for outdoor sign installation. I've heard some use tyvek, but I would like to have other options.

Thanks. Ben

Depends on the job/weather.
Everything from bond paper, to poly banner (tyvek) and corrugated cardboard or plastic.

I use polycarbonate poster paper, the cheapest I can find.
same with banner material, although banner media tends to get heavy on long-runs and pulls hard against the plotter while causing to to drift a LOT over 10'.

usually just butcher paper

can reuse backing from vinyl if you need a bit heavier

transfer to rigid pattern (1/4" ply, or sometime 'shower board') if needed (read: rain)
