Path problem

I have not traced much by hand using Illustrator. I have traced a logo which has squared off corners. When I use the pen, I am getting 'gaps' between the anchors on the ends. The ends are touching, but do not come to a perfect point. Any help would be appreciated.

With the pen tool selected click on the caps lock tool until it turns into an arrow tool and not a crosshair. As you trace the pointer appears normal. When you get near the end it will have a small hollow O near the arrow indicating you are closing an open shape
