Pause Between Print and Cut With VersaWorks?

I am printing some small 3" round decals that are being cut right after printing with a VP540i.

Is there a way to have the printer auto pause for 5 minutes to shut off the heaters and let the vinyl cool down before cutting?

It's in VW settings when you set up the job. Hit the Printer Controls tab and click Other Controls - Custom Settings, and set a Dry Time.

Are you wanting the heater to turn itself off between print and cut? Not sure if it will do that, but what I have done in the past is sent the print job, dry, return to origin after print. Then turn off the heater manually, and then send the cut job. I assume you find that the printer cuts better without heat, which has been my experience.

Unless I am missing something, all I can adjust there is the vacuum and head height.

Can I turn the heater off manually if the profile is set to let the media control the heater?

I just got a new printer so I am not familiar with the heater like I was with my old one. It is a VP540i.

I guess I could also have it print the crop marks so it will read the print as well?

OK, here is the work flow I would use in this case.....

Design/export
Print, with crop marks, dry, return to origin
Now, go into VersaWorks Heater controls, Use Custom Settings, uncheck heater(s) (this will only affect settings for THIS job)
Go to printer, turn off heater(s) Let printer cool. :)
In Cut Controls, select cut only, send cut file. (Make sure Crop Marks is still on)

That should do it
