photoshop to illustrator

A customer brought me a psd. file with all text, no graphics is there a way to export it to get a cut file out of this or its impossible.

If you have the same fonts installed and if the text layers are still formatted as text ... then yes.

And, of course, if you have a recent copy of Photoshop installed.

I have the cs3 full packge, How would I do this.

Save it as a PDF from photoshop. Place it in illustrator. Flatten transparency and outline all fonts. Select the text you want and do what you like with it.

• install all fonts used
• open PSD file in Illustrator
• release cropping area

Jasonx's method also works if you don't have the fonts. If you do, the method I supplied will leave the fonts editable.
