Placing a vinyl over a screw or nut

What is the correct method of placing a vinyl over a screw? I tried a heat gun but still doesn't look very best. I also tried cutting with a Stanley knife around the screw but also doesn't come out too next. Is there any specific method or technique or tool to be used?

Screw or rivit?

Screw - Remove screw, apply vinyl, replace screw.

Rivit - Rotary air release tool, torch & rivit brush. (old school traditional method)

I paint over all hardware to match,.. I also use vinyl to cover any holes like old neon or screws yes it still does not look perfect but at least when up 10 ft or more you have to look directly & intentionally

Some hardware ya just need & hide the best ya can it is only a sign

Keep in mind, you don't necessarily have to know what the hell your doing to make a video and post it on youtube.

If you're using calendar vinyl..that's most of the problem.
Cast vinyl will conform and stay much better.
