Can somebody please help me. I was printing for about 15 minutes and I think it was message carriage got separated. I am not sure. I have turned of my printer and turned back on and when I tried to set-up media I got scan motor error. I tought limit initialize will fix problem and I tried to do it but carriage wont separate. Did any of you ever had this problem. Does anybody know how cutting part separate from printing part of carriage. Is it just forse of the motor or there is some electrical part that does this. Magnet in between is very strong and I dont know if motor is powerfull enough to separate it. Thanks in advance

Shut the machine off and manually move the entire carriage (cut/print) to the "home" position (all the way to the left). You won't break the machine. It should reset the machine.

I just did it and I found out it couldnt go all the way. So I unscrew screw that conects wire and carriage and moved to the left all the way. Than I tried to limit initialize and they gor=t disconected but when i move cuuter tool to the left and hit enter, it goes back and there is loud clicking sound. I dont know where is coming from. It gets almost to connect with printing part but doesnt connect. Than i get message out of the range

Clicking sound is from scan motor encoder. Its got chiped so its missing few lines. Needs new scan motor. Anybody knows good source for SC-545ex or CJ-540 scan motors?
