Plot/cut a film that does not have a backing material

How does one cut a film that does not come with a backing material?

I have a Graphtec FC8000 and I would like to cut a .0006" thick polycarbonate film with the cutter but the film does not come with a backing material.

How do I work around this?

try premasking the back and only cutting through the poly - ive done that with some success

Tape a piece of another backing over cutter strip.

+1 for using transfer tape on the back, use 2 layers if you must, and also use the CB15U blade for lexan.

I do this with for printing/cutting on lam if I realize at the last minute I have only clear back lam and I promised a job
