The falcon series is capable of AMAZING output... if you're willing to wait for it.

Thats the first printer that I ran (48") and I think it could put out a staggering 12 sq ft/hr in a print mode that was acceptable

Trust me, Im aware, I have a Mutoh Rockhopper 38"...its SLOW.

But, this Falcon 2 is suppose to be pretty fast, so Im concerned on the actual quality of the prints and the colors that it can print.....

All the spec's look great, just want to confirm that from some of the falcon 2 owners, and possibly some of the tech's who have worked with them.

Make sure its worth the money, that it can put out prints as good as a mimaki, roland ect ect

the FIIO also known as the Rockhopper II, uses the same heads as the Toucan LT and the current Spitfire and Blizzard, current Roland models as well as the current Mimaki series (except the JV33 and JV5).

So it is in many ways still current technology.

Output from the machine will obviously depend on the shape of the machine and alignment of the machine and heads, wear and tear etc.

Here is the spec sheet:

Thanks Randya, as always excellent info....and I only posted this an hour or two ago.

I guess Im gunna shoot for a lower price and see what happens, this thing looks like its in excellent condition (but I still have to see it up close). But from the pix, the printer, and the entire shop are in good condition, (for what that counts for...)

If I get it I'll post it up, Im sure I'll have plenty of new questions at that point. Randya...I guess I'll have to put you on payroll ha ha

Thanks all :)

lol thanks,

If quality is your primary concern: have you considered newer technology like the VJ's?
One head vs 6 or 8.

Well, let me re-state that.....first comes money, then quality :) I have a fixed budget right now...Im a very small sign shop. So, im trying to get the best option for the best price. I already have the rockhopper, but its extremely slow, only prints up to 38" and does not do well with several colors/gray's ect. I have onyx and have spent hours/days trying different profiles ect....I believe I am getting somewhere close to the best this printer can do.

So...considering that, how is this printer looking now? Its 64" wide...perfect, same print heads as many other excellent printers...perfect, prints fast....perfect, and a take up reel :)

The lowest Ive seen a 64" valujet for is around 9/10k....I wish I could :(

So, you think based on these statements that it is a good choice?

I offered $4250  see what happens
