printed white on matte black looks odd

I used Duracoat super opaque white and printed on 3m sc 50 matte black. It looks OK, but while setting up the bomb site I could see that the white sort of looked like perf film, if you know what I mean. It was not solid although from a distance it looks perfectly fine.
I sort of got worried and found the same decal from a previous run 3 months earlier and took a look at the print using the bomb site and it looks exactly the same. I checked some other decals using regular spot colours and they are solid.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this, or am I having issues.

I know they have a new more opaque white out (Arctic White?) for the Edge that the sales rep showed me a couple weeks ago. Which resolution are you printing it at? 300x600 seems to have "heavier coverage" but can cause oddities at times.

double hit it, use flood coat, or try the arctic white. or, don't let your customer inspect it with a magnifying glass.

I am wondering if it always printed this way? I have an Edge LE so I have no control on resolution as far as i know. Maybe my heat settings are wrong. It may also be the matte material as opposed to gloss...maybe the white does not stick as well.
they are tiny letters anyhow so I am not going to worry about it.... I jujst curious
