printer return status error

Go Bills!
was having this issue with flexisign 10 and my HP 25500 for a few months now.

if i tried to send a file directly from flexi to printer i would get "printer status return error", if i RIP'd the file to a save file and sent, i would not have an issue.

after calling flexi and HP a few times and getting nowhere i finally tired flexi again today and they had a 2 minute fix.

AVG virus software has a link scanner that was causing the problem. un-click the Enable Surf-Sheild and the problem is gone.

I'm posting this because i scoured the internet and found nothing to help me. i'm betting someone is having this same issue..

Just had this problem ALL day today, out of the blue. Never happened before. Did what this said and now I am printing. Freakin weird. I never changed anything in AVG and haven't had any updates lately.

And this doesn't work today. I can not get a job to send as i keep getting this error. Any more ideas as to why this is happening? I have looked through everything and nothing has changed except the fact that every job sent to the HP is either returning this error or I get CANNOT OPEN PORT.

AVG loves updating, resetting and adjusting various parameters in it's software.

Switch to Avast. Your problems will go away.

The biggest problem I had with Avast in the early days was installing a new video card. The computer would bluescreen after installation of the driver on a fresh install. Avast was blocking .dll files from writing to the program files folder and causing an issue. Disabled it and done.

All our RIP computers are connected to an internal gigabit network seperate from the internet for exactly this reason. All USB sticks are scanned before connecting them to these computers specifically and we never have a problem.
