Printer without power ...

Well here is the big question , I need to leave to for 10 days and I'm hoping I can shut the power down to the house when I go .. I normally do this just for safely. Also last week I saw a house burn to the ground :omg:

So the question is , how long do I have before the ink dries up ? The printer in a 1 year old VS-300i , I know the ink circulated once a day.

Any advice on this ? Usually I take off to Europe for a month and shut the whole house down , but I didn't have a printer to worry about then. Also both neighbors are detectives so when I am gone I have them park their cars in my driveway .

How far away is the neighbor? Run an extension cord over from them. Or you could just hit the breakers on most of the house and just turn off most of it. I WOULD NOT ADVISE LEAVING IT UNPLUGGED EVEN FOR ONE DAY.

He's not too far , I will think about it a little more and see what I can do. I know he wouldn't have a problem with it so that may be the route to go. Normally I would just shut all breakers off but one , but again after seeing that house burn to the ground last week that got me a little nervous.

I am a little curious to know why you are ok with having the electric turned on while you sleep but afraid to leave it on when you leave?

I would leave it all on and go away, have fun and if you leave for a month, have someone come over and print something every 3days.

If a fire starts when I am asleep at least maybe I can smell burning / smoke before real damage takes place. If I am out of the state how would I do that ? :Big Laugh

Let me ask you this. How many times has your house caught on fire due to electrical problems, if at all. Kind of sounds like you either have a faulty electrical system, or are a bit cookey.

Ignore them. It's a perfectly acceptable safety procedure to put in place if you are going to be out of your house for a long period of time. Probably wouldn't recommend an extension cord.

Pulling the breakers is a good idea to minimize electricity flowing to a different areas of the property.

If he is a really good neighbor ask him if you can wheel the printer over to his house (garage maybe) and have him babysit it while you are gone.
Trade him some prints for the favor.

Oh man... Just leave your power on. It's only 4 weeks. How many weeks has your house gone with power and not burned itself down?

Unplug everything that doesn't need to be on. Have your neighbor or family member check in on your house.

It will be fine.
