Printing on Metal Foil

Does anyone have a solution to partial printing on top of gold or silver medal foil? After the Gerber medal foil prints and then a color or colors are printed on top the spot color foil doesn't transfer right or just some of it transfers. Going over it a second time doesn't help. Any suggestions?

I couldn't find a solution that was suitable. Ended up overprinting the Medal series foil overtop of whatever I had already printed.

I've done some impressive combinations with the top colors printed on clear, and applied over a medal series print, or other specialty surfaces that don't take edge printing well.
