Problem with contour cutting

I have a mutoh valuejet 1204 and a vinyl express Q130 I bought as package for printing and cutting. They both work fine except when I try to contour cut. Sometimes the contour cut feature works fine. Then sometimes it won't read the registration marks. It just seems odd that sometimes it cuts fine and sometimes it won't cut at all. It is really frustrating that sometimes it decides to contour cut fine and then other times it won't work at all. I thank you for any information .

sometimes i noticed if your registration marks are to close to the left edge of the material looking at the machine it could take a fals measurement so if the material is 50" wide we tell flexi it is 48 this way it will compensate for the mark and also using the reg mark L facing outward seems much more accurate than the window framed L if that makes sense.

what program are you printing and cutting out of? I had the same problem with flexi, short runs cut fine but anything more that 2 ft would not read the reggo marks. Turned out to be the compensation feature in the program. Let me know if your using flexi and I can walk you through it. If not flexi.......not sure

In Production Manager select your printer setup and do Setup->Output Size Compensation... pm me your number and I will explain the steps.
