Hey all - I bought an SG300 Roland, I am pretty happy with it so far. I've been using it for outdoor graphics and machinery labels so far... (warning labels, etc using an overlam and a high tack substrate).
Everyone talks about how calendared vinyls shrink over time, and cast ones don't (for the most part).
I'm looking at doing some prototype packaging and in-expensive indoor printing and cutting.
I need a material that won't shrink, but I don't need it to be outdoor grade.
Is there an in-expensive paper? Or perhaps a (more costly) PET, or PP of some sort? I know the Ecosolvent printers are best on Vinyl, but I'm wondering if there is an absorbent substrate (like paper) or a coated plastic of some other type that might work for some packaging projects.
Ideally I would like to be able to print and contour cut this material.
Does anyone have any experience around these types of materials?
thanks so much!
