I am new to the printing world and I have a Roland Xc 540, I have a project dealing with pre hemmed banner material. What complications will we see using this material? Do i need to set it a different height to not damage my print heads? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I have an XC-540 and have tried this before. There are a number of complications:
  1. Your artwork has to have a white background, since you can't print to the edge.
  2. You can't print more than maybe 8-12 feet at a time or the material might shift enough that the rollers run over the grommets, which you don't want.
  3. Print quality was poor on the material I tested. Ink looked very textured like it wasn't absorbing properly. May have been corrected by a profile setting.
  4. Chances of a head strike are increased due to extra thickness and grommets.
  5. Lining it up so that you get grommets in the corners is an annoying limitation.
  6. Most pre-hemmed banner material I've seen is not printable on eco-sol at all. Hopefully you got the right kind.
