Recommended Mutoh cleaning interval when sleeping

On our 1304 I checked the ink level via the readout on Friday at 6:00PM when I put the machine in standby.

The ink levels were:
72/69/59/62

As of 8:00AM this morning the levels were:
47/44/34/37

and the waste tank is about 1/2" fuller than Friday when I left.

OUCH!!

The installer had set the sleep cleanings for 2hrs.

What do you guys run your machine at in reference to the cleaning interval when the machine is sleeping?

Every 4 hours with economy clean during the week, and every 12 hours with a strong cleaning during the weekend.

The cleaning intervals depend on the relative humidity of your shop! Lower humidity requires more frequent cleanings.

OK, now understand this came from a Signwarehouse tech... They told me once a day when the unit is in sleep. The problem I have is that I leave for 4-5 days at a time. They told me a simple clean every day will work well. After reading some of these replies, I'm getting a little worried. No problems as if this point but I have only had the printer for about 16 months.

I've got mine set at 24hr now. So far so good. Fairly low humidity in here with A/C running.

12 hours. economy clean. dont let the techs tell you anything different. they told me to set it at 6 hours. i said no thanks. we never even had them clean and would come back from weekends and they are fine. i think anything less than 12 hours is pointless overkill.

Factory recommendation is Economy every 6.

I've been telling folks every 8-12.

I dont put either of mine to sleep at all, but we print almost every day.

You should be doing a physical wipe down twice a week, takes about 5 minutes on 16xx and about 8 on the 1204 and 1304s. Clean the edges around the head, the ramps, between the ramps, the cap and wiper.

Too much auto cleaning will build up residue on the wiper and edge of the head (dry ink), so if you run more than every 6 or anything besides economy you should step up your physical cleanings.

you may have been filling your sub tanks if this was a new start up... I don't see that kind of consumption overnight.

Mine is set for Normal clean because I can't see how to get it set to Economy. Is that when both lights are on perhaps?

Sorry, but the Mutoh manual for the 1304 may be, no is, without a doubt the worst manual I've ever tried to use. Perhaps I'm brain dead but I can't see how to print the entire thing out so I may have it on hand or read it when not at the computer.
