Removing Main Board for Refurb

Hello,

I have a VP-300 which when powering on (using rear switch), only illuminates the green LED on the Main Board and the Printer Cartridge Board. I have been advised that this is an indication of a bad Main Board. I have located a service manual which shows REPLACEMENT of a main board requiring pulling parameters using Peak 4. If I am repairing, instead of replacing, do I still need to pull these parameters or can I simply remove the board and take to a reputable electronic company?

Thanks in advance!

You most likely won't be able to connect to the board to retrieve the parameters anyway. At the end of the day, it's not a lot of work to start with a new board from scratch so don't worry about it. Getting the parameters off the old board and putting them on the new one is more of a convenience than a requirement. In your case if they are able to fix it, the parameters will already be on there to begin with.

Cool. I will yank after power has been off over 10 mins and get over to get reworked. Thanks!
