Replaced Sub Tank Valves on VJ1604 Sub tanks not refilling.

I have just replaced all the Sub Tank Valves on our VJ1604 due to errors saying the sub tanks were low and becoming a to common issue. I have installed these in accordance to the maintenance manual. But on trying to do a test print it keeps coming up as subtanks refilling and looking at the valve outlet their is air in the system. I have checked that the valves are working and they are clicking on and off, but at no point does it say to prime or remove air in the system in the manual. I can only think the air in the system is the issue. How or what should I do to get this up and printing again? Thanks SC

DIY Printer Fixing Guide
When it says "Subtanks refilling" the pump should cycle for a little bit and then it sits there for a while to let the bags fill up. If it never stops doing that, there could be a an air leak between the valves and the ink line. I've never changed a valve on that machine. Is there an o-ring connection between the ink line and valve? If so, I would replace those first. Also, double check that the "full" sensor is working properly. It is an interrupt sensor and there should be a flag on the sub tank bag that interrupts the sensor telling the machine that it is full.

I do not think their is any leaks on the joints and the joints do not have o rings but you can see clearly that their is air in-between the valve pipes on the valve.

Yes their was air in-between the valves.
This morning I came in disconnected the bottom of each valve and pulled the ink through the valve with a syringe with each valve turned on and then reconnected it to the bottom of the sub tank bladder.
Yes it was messy and even with cloths and gloves on, I now have 2 cyan fingers!
But it seems to have sorted it and the printer is once again printing.
The air lock was situated in the valve and until you pull the ink through it, it will not let any ink through.
Hope this helps anyone else who fits new sub valves
