Retrofitting a Take Up Assembly

Has anyone here ever retrofitted a take-up assembly from an older machine and used it on a new one?
Thinking of doing that with a new 1204. I have a take-up from my old falcon outdoor.

i wondered the same thing and no one really had an opionion as to if it could be done. i think it could be done with a little creative bracket making but it does not directly bolt up. they should make a retrofit kit or something in my opinion
