Has anybody lettered ribbon with vinyl for a ribbon cutting ceremony? I don't see why vinyl wouldn't stick and work good, but want to ask before purchasing a roll of ribbon. Or maybe heat transfer material works better?
We do them all the time on our flatbed, UV inks work well on ribbon... Run the ribbon the length of the bed along the edge, low tack painters tape to hold it down and keep moving it down the length of the bed till we hit the desired length, roll it back up & ship it out...
Since we stock ribbon material (C & G brand) I cut a piece and stuck some Oracal 651 to it, lays nice in pieces, but trying it with pre-mask is was a fail, the Oracal peeled off the ribbon too easy. I guess it would depend on the type of ribbon material and vinyl used, the ribbon we stock for printing to is really silky feeling material... The vinyl just doesn't get a good bite to it.
