Roland Eco Sol Max ink?

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the Roland Eco Sol Max ink cartridges with the SQUARE around the color designator and the ink cartridges without the SQUARE?

I have seen Roland Eco Sol Max ink both ways with the SQUARE around the color designator and the ink cartridges without the SQUARE, and don't know what significance the square has (meaning), See photos below.

Thanks for any help on this.

I hadn't even noticed the difference. i just checked all our new cartridges have the square around the colour letter. I have a couple of older cartridges in the machine that don't have that. colours that we don't use up as often (Lcy, Lmg) check the bottom of the cartridges and see what the date says. My guess, and its only a guess, is that its just a packaging redesign. I wouldn't be surprised to see the ones without the squares are older.

Just checked our collection of old and new tanks... a mix of both designs throughout.
I wouldn't worry... just seems like a packaging redesign as above.

+1 no box = older ink.

just take a look at the amount of information on the labels.

a more interesting question would the labels themselves, are they printed with Roland machines / inks and onto Roland medias?

I had noticed the packaging change as well, it also comes with a piece of paper in the bag now. I do not like that they took the color off the side of the cartridge. Not a huge deal, However how we store them is makes me have to look twice during ink changes.
