My guess is you didn't unplug the printer before installing the heads. Ribbons touched each other and fired either the servo board or the mainboard (I can't remember if they are separate boards or built in together).

The stuck "Processing" message has been fixed with a replacement servo board on a SP-540, VP-540i and a sp-300.

That does not sound good. First off did you have the unit unplugged while you changed the heads?

While the printer is off can you still move the heads off the capping station and does it move easily?

Any chance one of the ribbon cables going to the heads are not on right?

Will the pump gears move if you move them manually or will the wiper slide forward? Basically checking to see nothings jammed.

The normal is to be saying processing while it does a bit of a head clean and once done the heads move back to the capping station. How far does yours go? Will it start the the cleaning with the pump running a bit?

I have never come accross this so these are all just shots in the dark.

If you do get things going remember to change the head rank for each print head in the pannel.

Hope someone else can chime in.

Good I see gtstech got to you quicker than I

no i made sure the printer was off and unplugged. this blowing board stuff does not sound good. when the printer is of you can move the carriage no problem. i even went into the service menu and found something on there and when i pressed enter the carriage started going left to right like normal. but as soon as i select the sheet where it measures the paper it gets stuck.

any other ideas anyone?

You lost me on that last part.

When you power up normal to start the printer, is that when it stops on processing?

Or does it stop when you try to setup page?

When you turn the printer on.....and does hes things....when pushed the sheet setup does it measure the sheet and goes back to the capping station, or stops short?
