Roland SP540V display board issue

My SP540V’s control panel doesn’t want to switch on the power button on the display. There is power on the machine, and the lights on the side are on, but the power button doesn’t want to switch on. The self-clean function is active, so when the machine is in “sleep mode”, it will go on automatically and start the self-clean process BUT on the display, it says: Press power to clean. When I do this, the display goes dead and nothing is happening further. I’ve had a tech visit, with no success. He tested some of the boards, but couldn’t identify the problem. Is there anyone who can direct my path, please?

It is most likely the chip on the display board is failing. There isn't any way to fix this really. I have replacement working boards in stock if you need one.

Thank you Damon, is there absolutely no way to test a board? I'm afraid of buying boards, replacing as we go and still doesnt solve the issue at hand? What if it isnt the display board but the main board? How do you do fault finding. L

Someone who is experienced in board diagnosis and has all the proper equipment ( expensive ) could test it, but it would cost you more than just replacing the board to be honest.
It may be a main board problem, but when these go bad they don't tend to cause display problems. SPVs are getting to the age now where things like the display can just fail from age, so that would be the first thing I would check.
