scroll wheel problems

I just bought a wireless MS mouse 5000- I love it- 5 buttons and tilting
scroll wheel. The tilt wheel function works great- the scroll (horizontal)
direction is jet propelled- one click is about a yard. Reminds me of trying
to squeeze off a single round on my machinepistol (MP40).
And yes I have the latest version of MS Intelipoint control and have both
directions set to 'old guy speed'. I love being able to zoom in/out, scroll
back/forth, but my up/down enjoyment is hampered. Any suggestions?

Up/down should be scroll wheel only. Left/right should be shift+scroll wheel. Zoom should be Ctrl+scroll wheel. Thats how my flexi 8.6 works.

Interesting snake- I did not know that- works good on this station with a
regular wheel mouse. The other station has a 'tilting or wobble' scroll wheel-
on that one when you push the wheel left or right you scroll l or r. This old
wheel mouse scrolls vert as I would expect- the new one has RATO (rocket
assisted take off). Thanks Gene

You may be able to go into the properties of you new mouse and set it to do those commands with the wheel. I am not familiar with your mouse or software. Its funny how differently the scroll wheel works between different programs.
