Seal 62 vs USCutter LightningLam

I'm looking at a laminator, obviously. It is to complement my Mutoh 54" Valuejet

I saw both the US Cutter Lightning Lam here:
http://www.uscutter.com/USCutter-LightningLam-Lite-63-Heat-Assisted-Cold-Laminator

and at

Fellers 62 Base
https://www.fellers.com/fellers-sho...minating-equipment/set/seal-62-base-laminator

Both have very similar specs but vastly different prices. I've seen the 62 base in person and the video for the uscutter lightninglam.

Is the 62Base $9000 better? They both look good. I wish I could see more reviews of both.

I guess I'm looking for a valid reason to NOT get the UScutter model.

Thanks for any info,
Bryce

The us cutter is made by Yinghe, and is the same mechanics as the GFP laminator's with a different layout. It works really well and is worth the price.

The seal has a rock solid reputation and support, and is worth every penny they charge.

Both laminator's will do the job and do it well once the operator is used to running it.

Bryce,
What functions are you looking for? There is a chance that neither of those laminators will do what you want.

as for cost difference, one is probably an Asian import while the seal is made in the US with mostly non-Asian components. Also the designs are totally different. The cheap unit has a separate stand and separate lam/takeup assembly. This is a low cost design compared to the Seal. If the seal is in your budget I would recommend checking out the entry level AGL laminator too. The AGL is superior to both of the above units and not too much more money than the Seal.

if possible, find demos of both laminators and load / web material a few times to see if you will be buying an expensive headache.

The purpose mainly is to laminate outdoor graphics. I already have another laminator for sheetfed work (up to 18x24) and up to 10 mil thickness. It works well but not for the protecting vehicle and floor graphics

For vehicle graphics, having a rear wind-up on the laminator would be important. Outfeed slitters would be a huge convenience too.

For mounting, a heavier machine is more stable. But then again the money saved on the imported laminator could go toward a roller table for mounting.
