serial cable and flexi

So i have a mutoh rockhopper 38 and am in need of a new computer. Noticed the new computers dont have a serial port. Will a serial to usb cable work? Would i need drivers? Anyone know if it will work on a mac? Sorry for little info typing from my phone

i have mine on an ethernet cable directly. if you cant do that, you can set it up on your network router.

Got the new computer and Flexi up and running. I have the printer hooked up with a parallel to usb cable. I can run either my 42" q100 cutter or the 38" Mutoh Rockhopper printer but I cannot run both at the same time! Cutter is running through a usb port labeled vinyl express usb. Printer is running off usb port labeled usb 002. I am starting to think they are the same usb port, because I can only run one or the other. I need to change ports in order to run the opposite. So confused and aggravated. Business has been down for 4 days and counting plus my wife is giving me s*&^ for spending all my time trying to figure this out! Anyone have any advice? It would be HIGHLY appreciated

Try plugging one of the USB cables in the front of the computer and one in the back if your cpu is configured as such. That way they are individual port and bus.

Didnt help only made things more f'ed up! Now my regular home printer wont work! Throwing an error message! Never ends!

I guess im just going to have to give in and buy a print server! Anyone know of any chain stores that would have it? Really cant wait another few days to get back up and running and order on online.
