Sign Post Cladding

Trying to figure out the best way to dress up sign posts. Doing a bid on a job for a sign that sits on 2 4" steel tubes. customer says they want the posts cladded. What does this involve? Could it be as simple as slipping plastic covering over the posts before attaching the sign, or is it more of masonry type work. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

the word "cladding" alone won't tell you what your client wants, but maybe that's an opportunity for you to design what you want to do, or are most set-up to do.

I encountered this word for the first time, and was supposed to provide cladding on 4" aluminum pipes..

I changed (with approval) the "pipe" to square tube... and my "cladding" will be flat redwood on all 4 sides, with CNC routed decoration on all 4 sides

Yea I kinda figured "cladding" was a loose descripton of what they want. Maybe I'll propose to box in the area between the tubes with plywood and face the plywood with some sort of stucko and paint.
