Snap trim how to?

Does anyone have a better method of installing Snap Trim?

I've been using an edge sealer then a bead of silicone on the inside of the C 1/2" channel. Sometimes this works but I just had a job come back where the silicone didn't seal out the water and the Lustrboard has delaminated.

I've used lusterboard a couple times in the past...and quit using it because of delamination.
I run all around the edge with titebond wood glue to help seal it up, and then used 100% silicone in the cap to hold it on.
Still had one come apart.
I don't even offer it to customers anymore, and use alumilite or alumacor for rigid signs.
