Tex, do you play Jumble in USA TODAY newspaper. The letters in your screen name are the same that spell "pedophile". Everytime I read it that's what I think your name is.
Agree. Why would you snip from a screen capture when you could download the original file in higher resolution? If wanting to save web contents, you can easily right-click on graphics to save the file in original file format, or every browser allows to save complete pages.
This is what I do on Windows 10:
-Shift-Windows-S to get the image capture crosshair, which also dims the screen
-Draw a box around the area I want to capture to the clipboard
-Windows-R, type in "mspaint" to run Paint (remember Paint? it's still a thing)
-Ctrl-V to paste the image on the clipboard into Paint
-Ctrl-Shift-X to crop the image in Paint (since the canvas is usually too big for some reason)
-F12 to save as a JPEG
It takes about four seconds and I don't have to open any windows or run any applications.
